YART: The Christian Trinity

From a functional perspective I don't see how it makes much difference. Christianity could have one God or a different God for every divine appearance in the bible and you wouldn't have to change the content of the bible. I think the only reason that the trinity as a single entity concept is hammered home so relentlessly is to keep Christianity relatively unified, rather than splitting off into splinters that worship either the Father, The Son, or the Holy Spirit. It also has the added benefit of being a reliable starting point for teaching young minds the art of doublethink.

Well, if you know anything about Catholics, they pretty much worship The Virgin above all others, who ain't even part of the trinity. That's some graven idol worship if I've ever seen it...but there you go.

Another can o' worms....

Did you know that during the classical period, you will always see The Virgin's shaw painted in blue/azure? that is b/c it was the most expensive dye/paint of the day. It was worth more than gold. Can't find a painting during that time that wouldn't have The Virgin flouting pints of azure paint. Fucking Jesus was relegated to gold and shit, sometimes yellow with a little orange b/c, you know...it's pretty much the same.

Not azure, though. Fuck no. You don't half-ass it when you paint The Virgin.

Religion got all fucked up when people started talking about it, going where they shouldn't go, where other disciplines took over and had long surpassed its original use. Religion is useless for explaining "how" or "what," and often times "why." It's useful for "what then?"

Look at the Brahmans--they've been around long before the Christians, the Jews, the Muslims....and they still get pissed when people open their mouths about this shit--b/c as soon as words appear, that's when religion dies. It is beyond humans, it doesn't need humans.

Religion needs to be there for humans because of what spirituality offers our minds.
But spirituality is far too much to become the answer for everything.
What we need, for our civilization to progress, is to go back to simple spirituality. Let it simply be there. When it is organized, and defines everything you are (your way of life, your culture, your daily self), it loses its meaning.

I am surprised no one mentioned the Devil. Because if you look at christianity with the same mythological analysis as you would the greek gods, he becomes another god. The god of evil/god of the underworld akin to Hades. Sure christian will argue that he is a lesser being made by God, but when you define his nature and power, he classifies as a god in the mythologic sense.

The primary question is : If there exists an extra-material force (god, souls, angels etc) is division and distinction posible, do numeric context apply. I am recently leaning toward a no answer to that question, ie all extra-material existence is combined and indivisible so that you cannot use numbers to characterize its nature.

Jesus was a good guy. Regardless of the drama that his followers cause around him, and what it still causes, you can't really knock the man himself. He stood up for what he believed in, showed everyone love, tried to lead people down a righteous path, and was apparently pretty nice.

Trinity is just an attempt to reconcile a confusion. They should have just went with Council or some other organizational construct.

The Bible does not ever say that god is a "god head" or part of a trinity in any way (though I could use some god-head right now). It alludes to the trinity in several places, but doesn't ever actually say it.

God's name, Elohim, is plural.

Man is created in the image of god, according to Christianity as adapted from the old testament, he is one entity with three shapes.

And just so you know it, God's name is singularis, from the Tanakh, the ONLY name of God is YHWH or יהוה
