Well, I must say I was curious when quite a few weeks went by and I didn't recieve any checks @ work(the univ), but I chocked it up to work-studies being paid late.

I decided to ask why today...

Turns out HR screwed up with my paperwork, and I was just "some guy sending in time sheets" according to them:|

Basically they misplaced my paperwork, and I had to redo all of it, and will prolly get paid on the 31st at the EARLIEST:|

that really really sucks....

not only were they lazy to begin with by not 'going after' you for fraud (if that was what they really thought), now they aren't fixing the problem for you.

HAH! Sounds like my past job here at my university! I didn't get paid for 8 weeks then I finally transferred to another department and finally got paid 2 weeks after I left. Payroll here all have their heads shoved so far up their asses it's rediculous.
 
Go to the payroll office, and ask whoever is at the front desk if she can find someone to loan you money to buy a sandwich. When the person says "what?!" Grab a seat (or anything to show you're not planning on leaving till this gets ironed out) and explain that you haven't been paid and don't have money for food. Let them know that whoever you talked to said you won't be paid till after the 31st and that you want to know if they expect you to not eat till then. Then ask again if someone will loan you money for a sandwich since you have no other way to get food.

😕 My Gap sweater will prolly give me away.

I am not "starving" by any mean..I just can't buy anything for myself this christmas except gasoline and luch....no wireless router etc...
 
Well be creative. When this happened to me, I kept saying how rent was due in a few days and there was no way I could pay for it w/o the check. After running around for 30 min. I had a paycheck.

They are being nice about it and willl try to advance me some money....this is not an isolated incident so I would rather not screw someone else over too...appearantly a lot of the work-study's have not been paid 🙁

yea i'd do that. its absurd what payroll is doing to you, especially when its not your fault at all!!

Ok, I was thinking that they were blowing you off. If they're working with you and stuff then that's different.

Misplaced paperwork that resulted in me not being cleared with payroll or some BS like that :|

I would put up a fight but:

1) I REALLY need this job to pay for books coming up the first week in January.
2) My need for the money is not DIRE. If I HAD to eat with it, that would be another story. Still, it ruins my christmas
