YARRT - Router recommendation?

I am currently using a WRT54GL with Tomato but as I add devices and demand higher throughput I desire a more competent router.

What would be an ideal router in the $75 to 100 range for a condo with lots of surrounding interference (house within two years)? I have a macbook pro, ipad mini, gf's laptop, and two smartphones. I do sometimes share large amounts of data over the network.

I'll spend a bit more for something with better longterm potential. Also, I prefer the ability to use open source firmware.
