In December, we got a letter saying our security deposit accrued $44 of interest and to take it off from January's rent.

I didn't post the letter in time and my roommate wrote me a full share of her month's rent $785 (which is half of our total rent).

I posted the letter a few days off and I told her to deduct it from Feb's rent.

I'm the one who writes the main check out and she writse a check to me.

She posted Feb rent's check and it says $468.

I'm confused.

I have an idea. Why don't you ask your roommate why she gave you $468?

Too bad she's never around. She's always at her bf's place and while we have classes together, I didn't bother to take the check off of our expo board until this morning...

You communicate with your roommates by posting things on a board of some sort? How about talking to her?

Obviously it's because Feb is 3 days shorter than January. That fact + interest from security deposit = 486.

I don't see this working since she probably doesn't know her roommate by DLeRium.

She seems like a generous tipper for your services rendered... Is she a waitress by any chance?

Heh.. $500 in Davis.. pshhh. I've seen some places the students live in. It's like a mansion compared to our apartment.

So apparently my roommate was on some serious crack and was working off amonthly rent of 485 when she did her calculations. She's gonna tack on a $300 check now, because she meant to pay $768... whew....

good to hear it all worked out. how is it being with a girl? (i'm assuming you're a guy so my bad if you're not...) my professor's living with a couple girls right now and he did so during his undergrad years, too, and he says you may think it's awesome to live with girls but it ends up being pretty bad, especially when it comes to the bathroom :p.

Yes I am a guy.

Well my roommate is at her bf's like 90% of the time. More like 99% of the time. She comes back after class sometimes, but usually waits for her bf to pick her up since she has work anyways. I can't complain because hey I'm paying for my share of the rent and I'm getting a 2 bedroom basically. Not bad of a deal. Ok, at least it's a 1 bedroom because I get my bedroom, the living room and the kitchen pretty much to myself.

That said my roommate and I are the same major. We take the same classes, and so it's pretty cool having someone who I can consult for help easily. Back when she used to hang around the apartment more, it was easy to ask her questions and what not for HW and stuff.

As for the bathroom, she's not too bad. I find more of my sh!t on the sink. Say if I decide to shave this morning, I'll see my shaving gear out on top of my contacts stuff.

As for the kitchen, we both don't cook, and the most I've seen her do is make sushi with her bf. Otherwise, its dumplings and ramen and a sandwich grill. I cook more ofte, although it's rare too especially with school. I definitely make a bigger mess because I buy Chinese to-go and then I need to cook rice, so I end up pulling out dishes while she eats her dumplings and it's a lot simpler to deal with.

Most of what I mention about the kitchen and bathroom applied mainly to summer and fall semester when she was around more often. Now that she's pretty much gone, I'm much to blame for the mess of the apartment. Since there's no one to possibly b!tch about my mess, I slack off on the mopping and Swiffering, although I forced myself to do that this weekend and now the place is sparkly clean.

All in all, I don't mind living with females at all, and I think my roommate's pretty cool. I guess it kinda depends what kind of person you're living with.
