drop the mushkin blue for the mushkin basic.

drop the 3200 for the 3000

get the chaintech nforce3 250

then enjoy hundreds of dollars in savings at the cost of less than 5FPS.

and drop the via chipset motherboard... i have that same board and i hate it personally. I got 350mhz overclock out of it, and that was REALLY good for this board =\

i guess you need the 56k modem? cause that will really put a drag on gaming. probibly should get broadband before a new computer (if gaming online). 80 bucks for a case for your parents? I don't think they will care if it has a window or not.

I personally hate round cables with a passion as they are cumbersome, unlike the regular flat cables that you could just fold and tuck.

Instead of buying the Case and the PS separately, you could get a Antec Sonata with 380W PS already included for 100 bucks. 380W should be enough power.

If you are a bum like me and sometimes puts too much Arctice Silver on, you might want to use Ceramique instead, performs very closely to AS5, but without the coductivity.

Instead of the K8V, I would get a Nforce3, VIA sucks.

I would get a TV tuner seperate from the video card, price would be the same.

I would ge a more powerful video card. The 9800 XT or X800 Pro.
