Yard and Tree Gurus look here please...

Any advice on the best way to get rid of two tree stumps? Two apple trees where cut flush with the ground. Each stump is about a 1.5 feet across.

thanks in advance.

Grab a pickaxe, shovel and nice sharp axe. Dig around the base of the stump exposing roots. As you expose roots, chop a good segment of it away to slowly loosen the stump and allow you access to dig underneath it and continue searching for roots. Eventually you can use a long strong pole as leverage to pull the stump out enough to get access to the roots directly under the stump, cut them away and you're done. It's tough work but good excersize 🙂

you can have the stumps ground up. See if a local tree person has the grinder and have them come out. Cost should be somewhere around $50. When they are done, throw in some good grass dirt and seed the area.

Yeah, those are about the only two methods I'm aware of....brute force or a grinder. You can drill a bunch of holes in them and drop stuff in the holes to promote rot so there easier to yank later, but that takes time obviously.

thanks guys... pretty much what I ahve been thinking... I wish I could use dynamite, but I don't think the neighbors or the police would appreciate that too much.
