yep. just to protect them... although I don't have one on my 10-22 lens because it tends to degrade the image/reflect a little more light.

Not really. Circular polarizer when I'm outdoors and it's relevant, otherwise just the hood.

I have a multicoated UV on my expensive 50-200 f/2.8, but not on my kit lens or 50mm f/1.4
