YAPT: Health Question

aplefka

Lifer
I've been pretty sick for the past couple weeks, and I've been drinking a lot of orange juice. A couple of times the only kind they had at the store was with pulp, so I'm just curious, what's the difference between orange juice with pulp, and orange juice without pulp, other than the kind with pulp has chunks of pulp (obviously). Is one healthier than the other?

Oh, btw, P = pulp in case you didn't catch on 🙂

pulp is fiber is good for your poop

So then Mr. Hanky will come to see me if I drink a lot of OJ with pulp?

Mr. Methane might also visit you too. At least he does when my wife drinks a lot of orange juice..... 😛

i dont think there is much nutritional value in the pulp as your body cannot digest it very well

the pulp just changes the texture of the juice. some people prefer the more homemade feel of it being pulpy, while others just want the pure juice. i dont really think OJ is very good for you considering the amount of sugar they add (in most varieties). it is a good source of vitamin C, but other fruits and veggies are excellent too - some even better IIRC

Yeah today is the first time my stomach has hurt at all, and I've only had maybe 16 ounces today. I've been drinking a lot of water too so I think that's helped.
