YAPT - Check out some photos with my Canon 20d

This first one is a shot of a Great Blue Heron that let me get fairly close with the Canon 20d and a EF 300mm f/4L IS USM Telephoto Lens

This next one is a shot of a Glossy Ibis that was very far away. It was shot with the 20d and a TLS-800 adapter for my Swarovski ATS-80HD Spotting Scope

Check your lens. Your lens seems to be suffering Canon's typical off-focus problem.

Agreed. Stop down your lens while shooting because

a. Your pictures seem to have too shallow of a DOF

and

b. Camera lenses are the sharpest in the middle of their f-stop range

The second photo wasn't shot with a Canon lens it is shot using a TLS800 adapter for a Swarovski spotting scope. I can't adjust f-stop with it. It makes the scope the equivalent of a 800mm F11 lens.

You took 2nd picture with 300D, Not 20D. Why lie?

Some of that Exif data looks goofy on that pic anyway... maybe is misinterpreted the camera type?

Nope. That doesn't happen. There's a big difference between "20d" and "digital rebel".
