A friend and I just ordered these chips from ebay, two sets that way we can switch colors as we want more of one specific color than offered, we were able to combine shipping charges to save money! woot, total cost $119 shipped,
guys says each case weighs 22lb , So my question is has anyone else purchased this set up and if so did you like it?

Update:
So i got the chips and the case last thursday, and I must say this is a sweet set up, so if your thinking about getting chips I can definitely recommend this seller and this product. The chips are nice and heavy and the aluminum case was a real bonus well made and the size was cool. it was a few bucks cheaper than expected , more money to lose to my friends :)

That seems kind of expensive. Why is it $119 for some chips, a case, and some cards?

They are quality clay chips and not plastic walmart chips. :)

My friend Mchammer and I just played a game with these same chips last week. Much better than plastic. Makes playing the game that much more fun!

I bought a set almost exactly like that except my chip design is different. I went w/ the "lucky 7" / "double dice" design. Only a few people sell them on eBay...but anyways, they are definately nice thought a little expensive...$100+ for poker chips when we buy-in for $5 when I play at school....

Its definately more fun to play with these chips than the crappy plastic ones though....or maybe I'm just rationalizing my purchase.

I remember the last time I looked for chips on ebay. If these are the chips I am thinking of (TONS of people sell them at ~$100, comes in an aluminum case that also holds 2 decks, with the chips themselves striped /w a foil logo in the center), there are NOT clay chips - they are weighted plastic. They are still pretty nice chips, and they are 100x better then the crap you get for $10, but if you ever feel real clay chips you will immediatly feel the difference. If you are willing to risk a chip, a quick test to see if it is clay or not is send it through the washer. If it survives - it's plastic. (BTW, this is also a nice way to clean plastic chips, clay chips you gotta do by hand and it is a pita).

EDIT : Here is an example of the "weighted plastic" chips on ebay.

hm..i'm one of those people that don;'t play that often, or that seriously.

200 plastic chips/2 decks cards/carolsel = $10.95 shipped

vs

500 11.5g composite chips for $90 +$20 shipping = $110

i bought the 200 plastic chips for $11 :)

Perhaps you can find that local game.

Why spam this crap? Your forums are dead?

Wow, that was Ass-tastic. wtf is your problem? the poster above him mentioned that he couldn't find local games, this guy has a poker forums that might help. hardly spam.

Back to the topic at hand, My friend has a set of these chips (at least they look the same). Feel great to play with. Good weight and build.

$119 isn't too bad. hope you have fun. If you're in the austin, TX area, i have a bunch of friends that play pretty regularly. Could try to get a game going. Open to whoever is interested.

I've got some like these. They likely are not clay like the above poster mentioned, just plastic with a piece of metal in the middle (like a blank quarter). They are still really nice chips, but not exactly like the ones in the casino.

I'm looking to get some off ebay, too. I notice theres a number of auctions where some dealer is selling a dozen or so of the same set....500 chips, aluminum case, dice, cards....each one goes for roughll 90-100 bucks plus maybe 20 shipping. What I'm wondering, is where do these guys get these sets to sell? Is there a wholesaler somewhere? They much be making money on them to sell them in bulk....where do I get in on where they are getting them from?

Just curious for those with poker chips.

What colors do you use and what order.
Say like red the lowest value, then white, blue, green and highest being black.

Just curious.
