For those of you that do like rap, hip hop, and related musical genres... please continue reading. Otherwise, don't bother commenting, please. Thanks.

For those of you that do, this thread is seeking your advice about which artists to look into, taking the following ones into consideration:
[*]50 cent
[*]Eminem
[*]Cypress Hill
[*]Pink
[*]Samantha Mumba
[*]Nappy Roots
[*]Swollen Members
[*]The Roots
I'm sure some of you will like some but not all on this list, but if you can think of an artist that plays similar genre that you think I may like, then please by all means post your suggestion and I'll look into it. I have no problem paying for music I like, btw, although I do frequently make burned CDs that have different tracks from all kinds of different artists (from MP3s I ripped from my own CDs, so I figure there's no problem there).

I know I could have thought of more ''artists'' (some would argue that term) than the above, but my brain is SLUSH right now, so I'm asking for your help.

thanks in advance 😀

For those genres, I'd probably recommend the following too:

[*] NAS
[*] B2K
[*] Jay Z
[*] The Notorious B.I.G
[*] Tupac
[*] Avril Lavigne
[*] Mobb Deep

Those are a few of my personal preference.

Big Punisher (Capital Punishment is such a good album...)
Busta Rhymes
M.O.P.
Pharoahe Monch
Talib Kweli
Mos Def
Common

Thanks so far!

I've listened to Avril Lavigne and Jay Z, don't like them all that much. Avril was catchy but I got sick of her stuff quickly. Tupac is great!! I forgot to mention it.. doh

I've heard of NAS and Notorious B.I.G.. but don't know which songs/albums to look out for really. B2K I'm not familiar with..

Here I'll suggest some specific tracks:
Roots - Next Movement
Common - Song for Assata
Common - Sixth Sense
Mos Def - Ms Fat Booty
Talib Kweli - The Blast
Big Punisher - Super Lyrical
Big Punisher - Dream Shatterer
Black Star - Respiration...very good song!
Nas - Small World
Jay-Z - Hard Knock Life
Jay-Z - City is Mine
Jay-Z - Who You Wit II
