YAMT-Poll: Toe

Chaotic42

Lifer
My toenail (that I got removed four months ago) has promptly come back. It's ingrown again, and when I touched it last night, infectious fluid poured forth from it like a fountain of evil.

It is slightly purple today and hurts like crap. My question to you is, what should I do? I'm making this thread while my gouger disinfects in the alcohol behind me. I'm bored. I'm on the fence about going to work. I just got home from school.

Need to leave for work soon if I go.

pour copious amounts of hydrogen peroxide on it
put your toe in a bucket and pour it all over it

I did that with iodine and isopropyl alcohol.

Right now I'm trying to dig some infection out, but it hurts like a bastard.

I have had more podiatrists than dentists and doctors combined. trust me, get this fixed NOW. You're already looking at 5 weeks + healing time... want to make it worse?

What had to be done has been done.

Apparently lots of clinics are closed today (everyone's sick), so it looked like a freaking daycare exploded when I went in. The total time was more than two hours.

My meds are being filled now, but as a giant Mardi Gras parade is coming down the main drag, I can't go back and get them. Good thing I have painkillers left from last time.

Now for my crab-meat poboy. 😀

Heh, I'd learn to just get used to removing them yourself.

Grab a bottle of alcohol to disinfect, get some very small, sharp scissors, and cut straight down on the side where it's ingrown, pull out. This usually works better if you do a shot of your favorite liquor first.

Yeah, I should buy stock in plyers.

The doc said that if it comes back, I should go to a podiatrist. He said they frown on killing the nails, but I'm not paying $300+ every four months for the rest of my life.

I've been doing it for a few years, they've all but stopped now since I forced them to grow back right.

Get some new shoes, something is causing rubbing, and my shoes were the culprit. If you want more detailed instructions let me know.

Yeah, I have shoe problems. I can't find socks that are big enough, and good fitting shoes are hard to find around here in my size.
