NEW YORK – Hundreds of impassioned demonstrators — all waving American flags, but separated into two groups by police — descended on the site of the proposed mosque near ground zero, with opponents chanting, "No mosque, no way!" and supporters shouting, "We say no to racist fear!"

This picture is great because it demonstrates the strange bedfellows in the radical left and Islam.

"Democratic New York Gov. David Paterson has suggested that state land farther from ground zero be used for the center. Khan, executive director of the American Society for Muslim Advancement, expressed some openness to that idea on ABC's "This Week with Christiane Amanpour," but said she would have to meet with the center's other "stakeholders" first.
"We want to build bridges," Khan said. "We don't want to create conflict, this is not where we were coming from."

Sounds like a reasonable solution to me...

Yep but they needed this one for other reasons:
"For us, a mosque was always a place to pray...—not a way to make an ostentatious architectural statement. Ground Zero shouldn't be about promoting Islam. It's the place where war was declared on us as Americans." Neda Bolourchi, a Muslim whose mother died in 9/11, said: "I fear it would become a symbol of victory for militant Muslims around the world."

Now there's a moderate Muslim we can stand with. Shame we're all personally attacked and slandered as bigots by the American hating Left of P&N if we support Neda Bolourchi instead of the Mosque's builder, who garners headlines such as this:

So the area between blocks 4 and 2 would be kinda like a "no fly" zone but for religions?

BTW, since when did the state give land for religious buildings or did I just read that wrong?
