This has been nagging me for about a week now.
At the end, once Smith takes over Neo, the machines/Neo delete Smith - it shows Neo laying apparently dead with a bit of a smirk on his face being held up by the machine seat they made for him.
Now, if I remember this right, which is why I'm asking, in that particular cut-scene... was Neo wearing his Matrix clothing minus the trench coat rather than his Zion rags and tatters?
I ask this because if I recall correctly, his Zion cloths was a light gray mesh-like shirt that had a slight tear across his right shoulder... but I recall seeing the buckleboots, a black shirt, and black pants (same as he wore inside the Matrix), plus I think his hair was a bit longer than earlier in the movie.
If someone can confirm this, this once scene is either an error by the directors, or it could be a profound revelation as to the nature of the Matrix and the Machines. If this scene is indeed as I think I remember, this could lend credibility to the Matrix-in-a-Matrix theory that everyone is talking about (which I don't buy).
