Looking at that poll, it's no wonder the music scene sucks these days

Their songs are undoubtedly good radio music. I have a hard time believeing that they write their own songs and they are a bit overproduced.

Their music sounds good though. Who cares about the lyrics if you just want some loud music to jam to on the way to school/work/whatever.

If I want that, I listen to Rage. 🙂

34 and I love them. Plus, they don't curse in every song which is a refreshing change in today's music. Not that I am opposed to some swear words but when I'm not comfortable with my kids listening to the radio anymore because of suggestive lyrics and swearing there's a problem.

They've got mostly good lyrics d00d ('cept Killing in the Name), of course they're all politically motivated, but whatever! 😀

I am really burned out on the manufactured anger in much of what passes for popular music nowadays. Limp Bizkit might be the worst example, but Linkin Park are also guilty of it - it's like rage for the sake of rage, and yelling for the sake of yelling. I find it emotionally vacant and ultimately soulless.

well said.

i really really liked them when they first came out .... but then wtf no self-respecting rock/alternative/blahblah band does a remix album, who are they, j.lo?

losers

edit: i'm 19

edit edit: yeah i saw 3eb too for my 14th bday and they were such tossers -- took like 4 hrs to come out and play, lorded about the stage like they were the kewlest ever, and didnt even sing (used a tape a la britney). plus when i got to meet stephan jenkins backstage he was really nice to me until he found out i was jailbait. grrr

They're not bad as a band. They make some good music (entertaining, not all that meaningful). I don't have much of an ear for instrumental abilities, but it seems like they're all very mediocre at what they do, the rapping is half assed, the singing is blah, the guitars don't wow me, the drumming isn't all that complex...but somehow they all sound great together with some electronic instumentals thrown in 😉

Dear god, have some taste, people!

Linkin Park would do such a great service to itself if they would get rid of that utterly horseshit vocalist who does the screeching. I don't know how people tolerate this. Personally, I think their music sounds pretty cool, but it is destroyed by the vocals. There have been many times where I heard one of their new songs on the radio and thought, "Hey, this sounds pretty sweet, who is........OH GOD, NOT THIS AGAIN." With any luck, his vocal cords will disintegrate soon.

Edit - I'm 21

20+

They're OK...

Their first album had some great singles on it, but everything after that I've heard is junk. They're really formulaic, and not in a good way. It's just a tired sound. I was honestly surprised they became as popular as they did because as far as I'm concerned that rap rock thing has been dead for many a year.

21...and one of my 3 favorite bands. I love their stuff, except for Reanimation.. i can't stand remixes from anyone.
