YAMLBT: Dammit, Cincy!

🙁

I wasn't going to let you break my heart again. Junior starting the season hurt and I thought, yeah, I won't worry about getting up any hopes of a pennant for the Cincinnati Reds this year. I can go about doing other things this summer. Oh, sure, I'll watch a game every so often and even go to a game or two, but you won't break my heart like you've done before.

So what happens? Middle of August and they are winning. At home and on the road. In fact their road percentage is better than at home. Junior is healthy and they are tied with St Louis. St. Louis? Geez, most people picked them as the team to beat this year.

But no, like a rocket with not enough fuel to reach an escape velocity, the Reds are crashing back to earth. 10 losses in the last 12 games. No need to worry about division championship, hell, they're 2.5 back now in the wildcard race (5th).

Dammit, Cincy, you made believe. You got me to hope. I swore I wouldn't let you back in and now here you are again. Crap, crap, crap.

Well, at least I'm not a cubs fan. Those folks are masochists.
🙂

I reflect your sentiments, except I'm an Astros fan. They couldn't score if somebody paid them.

Oh, wait... 🙁

they are 9-17 against nl west teams. and it doesnt help when you have to face the giants, dodgers, padres on the road, only to come home and face the surging giants again.
