http://www.stonebrew.com/13th/ale/

just got a bottle from a nearby liquor store, who always stock Stone's limited release in good enough quantity.
anyway, it taste like... an IPA Stout, but... i dunno what's else in it, but it's quite strong. [from the website's description, it is a double dry hopped Arrogant Bastard IPA?]

not bad from Stone's, but somewhat expected from their usual "excessive" style.

Oh crap, I forgot about that. Most of the reviews I've read say that it's their best Anniversary Ale in a few years...gotta find me a bottle tonight.

Thanks OP! :)

Tried their Belgian style the other week. Very tasty.

I've had that, and I was rather unimpressed. It was good, but I expected more from Stone. Their quality has slightly declined over the years, especially in the Ruination IPA. It used to be a huge favorite, but I've since moved on to Racer 5, Hop Stoopid and Pliny the Elder.

Damn...can you consistently find those 3 around you? I'd settle for the first two, knowing that Pliny the Elder/Younger is a mythical beer that doesn't really exist. ;)

Good idea, actually. I'd be willing to do a trade program, I can get a lot of good stuff here that is harder to find in other parts of the country. Plus we could try to get TallBill to get us some Three Floyd's stuff. :)

OMG, best idea ever. But I don't have much to offer from Phoenix. We need some cheap small-run Dogfish too. I might actually have you pick me up an assortment (sounds like you and my sister have very similar tastes) and ship it to her as a moving present. You can get paid in $$$ or beer. :p

ya, the idea of a trade is you have something we don't have. and being in phoenix... ;p
i kid i kid
anyway, ya, I would love to try some of the famed YeungLing offering from Penn state.
Dogfish Head is available here too in South Cal, but it (90 min IPA) was actually way too heavy for me.

and anxi80: the 13th already has a pretty big IPA profile, I am not sure if you wanna "double dose" it. In a way I tihnk it is a smoky indian itself, hence, I was quite confused when I drank the 13th - is this a Arrogant Bastard? Imperial Pale Ale? Double Arrogant Imperial Smoky Indian Bastard ????

Yeah, 90 minute 4-packs are regularly available here as well, they're usually like 11.99 - 13.99. It's from Delaware though, so you may be able to find that as well. I think I'll be going to the RR brewery within the next couple months, so I can pick stuff up for you guys if you'd like.

Lucky for me they sell their beer at the pike market, 2 min walk from my work. This thread is going to force me to pick up a couple for this weekend.

It truly is one of the finest liquids ever created. Dammit, I'm gonna have to get some of that tonight. :)

Well, Dogfish is basically everywhere these days...I have a few special bottles in my fridge right now. I just meant someone from around Delaware that would have more access to the special stuff.

I can offer...uhhh...a hearty thank you? I tried a beer a few weeks ago called 10 Fidy (I think), I'd like to track that down again. Same weekend I last had Pliny the Elder and various Chouffe.

I've found the La Chouffe to be very tasty, a great example of a good Belgian. Now I just want to try something with some Brettanomyces in it.
