Yamaha RX373 not powering on

My son turned on the receiver while the volume is set to maximum. Now the receiver does not power on. I checked the fuse but it did not blow up. Tried pressing straight>tone control>power at the same time but I only hear click.

Does anybody have any idea how to fix it?

Disconnect all the speakers at the back of the receiver and see if it powers up.
If it does not, time for a new receiver.

If it does power up, you have one or several fried speakers.
