Those are the two I'm considering right now, don't really want anything over 600(this will be my first super sport bike).
Does Kawasaki even make a 600?
Honda is a little pricy around here, for me. :)

Based on your experiences, which one should I consider more? I used to lean towards the new Suzuki(when I rode the 750), but lately I'm liking the sound of the carbureted R6. :)

Kawasaki man.

ZX-6R has won many awards.

there is a ZX-7R as well.

NINJA

I own a 94 500 Ninja and love it.
awesome handling and sub 4.0s 0-60 acceleration.

I have a '98 GSXR750, so I may be a little biased toward the Suzuki for balance and feel, but I would go with a 750 or larger if money isnt the issue.

I actually like the Honda CBR929rr, out of the bikes this year.

I don't think you could go wrong with either of those bikes...

Which one grabs at you more?

I've owned two Suzukis (97 GSX-R600, 99 TL1000R) and one Honda (95 CBR600F3)...the Honda was my favorite--too bad I haven't liked any of the colors since 95.

I still got a hankering for the Yamaha, even though the Suzukis are perhaps the fastest off them all the past two years. At least the 750 is, but I don't quite want to go that big unless I can get it for the same price as the 600. :)
Seems like you see a whole lot less R6s around, here at least, that you do Hondas or Suzukis. :)

Motorcycles look like a blast (talk about acceleration), but I would be way too chicken to ride one on the street. Just too dangerous for my tastes. :) I'm always envious when I see one tearing it up or squeezing between lanes in a traffic jam...

Speed wise - go with the Suzuki
Comfort Wise - go with the Yamaha

From what I've read and seen (I haven't actually sat on a the new GSX600) Suzukis riding position is supposed to be uncomfortable for most everyday driving - its a track bike.

If this is really your first SS, you can get the YZF600R that doesn't have all the SS characteristics of the R6 and R1, but a lot of pep. Good for learning (its what I'll be getting)

Happy riding :)
