A couple year old model (was $449 when new), but its a very high quality player. DVD upscaling is better than an Oppo DV-981HD and the equal to the DV-980H (I've owned one and tested/returned the other). The audio quality is a least as good as either of those. Very sturdy, heavy-gauge construction.

I love mine - primarily watch SD-DVDs and its 1080P upscaling puts my Toshiba Blu-Ray player to shame (and almost any player I've ever owned).

Not to thrad crap cause that IS a great deal. I just got mine though and the controls for FF and RW are horrible and it is a bit noisy too. I may have a dud.

The only gripe I have is the lack of an eject button on the remote. Other than that I'm quite satisfied. If its that noisy I would send it back if I were you - the disc transport on mine is the quietest of any player I've owned (and other user reviews have commented on the quietness of it).
