I did numerous searches and pulled up nothing on this yamaha burner. I just picked this one up from Best Buy for $149.99 and at check out two different rebates printed. The first was for the advertised $30 off, then another one printed for $20 off. Making the burner $99.99+tax after MIRs. While this is not as great of a deal as the sony 24x posted earlier, some may like the yamaha better and the software that comes with it.

The Yamaha rebates are available universally. You could try what I did, go to OD, use 20% off 50 coupon, and still get rebates. Make sure you PM best buy! 150*.8=120-50-->end result 70 buckeroos. woo-hoo! and tis a good package for first timers. even comes with a lil' cd stomper for labels. plus yamaha's just known for excellence in digital audio. smmmookin'! :)

Wurlybird9: could you please point me to the Yamaha rebates? Do you mean directly from Yamaha? I just bought a 16x10x40 scsi burner.

EDIT- nevermind- apparently I bought the 2100 S, and the rebates are for the 2100 SZ models.

I bought this burner as a Christmas present from Dell for 96.36 shipped. Here The part # is different but it is a retail box, comes with an IDE cable and all the nero software. The only difference I can see is on this box it says "distributor, club, or industrial use only" And of course it is not eligible for the rebate. By the way this sucker has an 8MB buffer and burnproof.
