I know that the Yamaha SCSI 16X burner does not have any burnproof technology. Has anyone out there had any problems writing CD's and using the computer simultaneously given the burner does not have any way to stop buffer underrun
well, i can tell ya from my imation/plextor 8x scsi w/ only a 2MB buffer, i have no problems. granted, i haven't tried playing q3a and burning in the background yet bur for basic tasks, playin mp3's.. works fine.
Since it's a SCSI burner, it's more likely you won't encounter buffer underrun when burning. It is IDE burners that most frequently have the problem. SCSI is multi-tasking.
The imation/plextor 8/20X has a 4MB buffer, and yes I have played Q3A while burning. But then I have a SCSI 10K hard disk too. It should work just fine, SCSI is the original burnproof
