Yep, the SCSI drives are second only to Plextor (And some think they are the best)

Yes, IMHO Yamaha is second best in CD burners only after Plextor. I had this model for a while, no problems, don't even remember having any coasters.

My 4416s just died a few days ago. Unfortunately it is not in warranty anymore. Yamaha used to have the best burners, but their burners are now out of date... kinda, since none supports clonecd.

This is what I did when my yamaha died due to shipping back to my country. It died when it was still under warranty but then I was back in my country and there was nothing I can do about it. When I came back, I called them and told them that my drive is still under warranty. All they need was an invoice stating the date of purchase. Since I bought that drive from buy.com, I edited the date on the invoice and send my drive back. I know it sounds unethical but then my drive died when it was still under warranty. The only different was I was not able to tell them at that time and told them at a later time.

You have to go to the clearance values section and click on drives on the right side. Yamaha is the last brand listed.

What's with the triple post? As for Yamaha, I believe they make great drives (or they used to) and are comparable to Plextor drives but Plextors by far make the best drives. I heard from someone that Yamaha doesn't make their drives themselves anymore.
