So, Lord of the Rings - Return of the King is showing at the IMAX near me in 35 mm format. Given the choice, would you see it in the IMAX or regular theater?

Watching a 35mm on an IMAX screen is a pain. The picture is mostly blurred and unfocused and -- believe it or not -- way too big. The sound is awesome, however. I'd recommend seeing it in just a regular theater.

I doubt there'll be an IMAX version of ROTK in the future, too. The Matrix Reloaded and Revolutions worked out okay, but ROTK is way too long for the format.

He just said it was ROTK... unless it was a typo.

I saw it in IMAX yesterday..

Well, ok, it wasnt _REALLY_ imax but I was forced to sit in the 3rd row back in a normal theatre.

Talk about headaches.. ugh.

I wouldn't. It's 35mm blown up on a huge imax screen and doesn't even utilize the entire screen. If they got a proper 70mm print I'm sure it would be awesome.
