YALOTR question, spoilers alert, spoiler alert. Lady Eowyn vs Lady Arwen.

What will be their respective roles?? PJ makes it seem like Arwen is going away and that Eowyn and Aragorn will end up together and yet in the books that's not the way it is at all.

also, When aragorn dialoges w/ Theoden, does King Theoden know who Aragorn really is??

As far as the amount of screen time given, I do not know. I expect it is to increase dramatic tension and serve as a hook for ROTK. Eowyn did have feelings towards Aragorn in the book, so that it happens is not a suprise, but if PJ has Eowyn and Aragorn going off together, expect a price on his head from Kami

in the books eowyn does end up falling for aragorn but nothing happens of it. and then she ends up falling in love with faramir while she and farimir and either merry or pipen are injured. she marries farimir in the end.

I read in a review--I'm going to say it's michael wilmington but i could be wrong--that PJ took the Eowyn/Aragorn romance from a footnote somewhere in the books, and he ran with it for dramatic effect/etc. Personally anything that doesn't involve liv tyler speaking elvish is kosher by me but i'm probably in a minority there

well actually, the whole Aragorn/Arwen relationship is pretty poorly written in the books anyway. Arwen has about 2 lines in FOTR, then she just appears in ROTK and marries the guy. You're like, "Who is this girl again?" and you have to go back to the first book to try and figure it out.

It's in one of the Appendicies...and actually PJ is staying pretty true to that story (Elrond wasn't as bitchy as he is in TTT movie , he was just like "OK, you have to be King before I'll let her marry you.")
