The thing with mulching blades is you have to cut it a little more often so the grass doesn't get so long and thick that the blades have trouble with it.

I know stefan, but I slack a lot, and most of the time it rains so often here that I can't cut it for a day or two so it will dry a bit...

Summer is a little better.

I mulch the front and just free cut the back (since it's mostly prairie grass).

Always mulch it. Mulching will not leave an ugly mess if you cut your grass at a medium height and use a mulching blade that is not dull. Also, if you have trouble mulching because your mower bogs down, you are either cutting your lawn way too short, or you have a POS mower.

I mulched grass that was 6 to 10 inches higher on part of my lawn last week, 6.5HP push mower went through it like a champ, when I was done, you could not even see the clippings unless you looked for them.

i bag the front and mulch the back.

the back is new grass so i want to return the nutrients to the little grassies. we like the front to be as tidy as possible so it's all about the bag.

i like to grab the bag and lift it, go out back with it and dump its contents. ahahh
