YALFNMT (Yet another looking for a new motherboard thread)

currently I have a Q9450 and I feel my current DFI x38 board is holding me back on it's potential. The board doesn't want to go stable past 425 regardless.

Here's my setup. I have a q9450 I want to maximize the OC on.

I have 4850's in CF.
I have several hard drives in RAID.
I have 4Gb of DDR2 so I don't want a DDR3 x48 mobo.

I heard the x48 mobos are better at overclocking quad cores compared to the x38's out there.

So, what can someone recommend for me here? The DFI x48? The gigabyte? something else?

Well, it could be a CPU FSB wall, generally Quads are not great for going High FSBs and the low 400 range is usually as far as it gets. But if you are looking for a board then I'd say either the Asus Rampage Formula or the DFI X48- both boards have been reviewed by AT (check it out) and both boards support TrD adjustment, which IMO is the single most awesome thing about the X48.
