anyone else here use an LCD HDTV as their primary monitor? do you have to manually turn the TV off/on each time you use it? that would be a PITA...

Thinking about replacing my current twin 19" samsung setup (930B and 914V) with a Visio 32" from Costco ($699)...the other option is an Olevia 27" for $579 shipped

Is this a good idea or not?

the diagonal measurement of the two 19" screens is about 31" so it is pretty close, but I am only about 2.5 feet from my chair to my screen...doesn't seem to be a problem right now, but 32" at that distance seems kinda of big...

any problems in using an DVI to HDMI cable to connect the video card to the TV? this should be better than using a VGA cable, shouldn't it?

A whole mess less resolution. I'd say thumbs down unless all you do is game.

A DVI to HDMI should be better than a VGA, since the panel is getting a digital signal with no conversion.

With two 19" monitors, you're getting an effective resolution of 2560x1024. What kind of resolution are you getting with the LCD TVs? Even with a 1080p set, the resolution is only 1920x1080. Another issue to ponder...
