I know you guys are getting a bit tired of these LCD threads, but I could use some advice on a flat panel. A good friend is selling a Planar CT1744NU for $275+S&H, and I'm tempted to get it as my first flat panel. The problem of course is that I know next to nothing about LCD's, so I'd appreciate some advice.
The panel's specs are as follows:
Size: 17"
Response Time: 25ms
Brightness: 200cd/m^2
Contrast Ratio: 400:1
Pixel Pitch: .27mm
The monitor is in perfect shape(no dead pixels or anything), and I've heard good things about Planar, so I'm thinking I'm going to buy it. However, would it be suited for me? I tend to play games a good deal, and I have some 60fps media I watch, so I'm worried that the response time is going to cause some ghosting problems, and the dot pitch seems to be awefully big(the current monitor I use, a Samsung SyncMaster 753DF is only.24), hence the need for advice. Would this panel be suitable for me, or should I go looking for a different one? Thanks.
