Usually you can find 10% off somewhere but never 25% on these racks.
Coupon expires 7/7/01
We went to the Walnut Creek, California - Sports Rack store last night and they were only going to give us max $50 like the coupon says, but then we were going to have my girlfriend as another customer. So you may want to bring a friend or buy some one day and some another day.

Personally, I like the yakima roof system better and for bikes the fork mounting type since they seem to hold the bikes better with less shaking. If you only want a bike rack, check the type that mount onto your trunk as they are much cheaper.

I think the yakima site is down right now...

Hi Y'all,

If you want a car rack, this is the time to get it. You will rarely see 25% off anywhere. But, I have to say I'd go with Thule for almost anything ESPECIALLY bike racks. You will find that there a benefits to both systems, but Thule is more ergonomic.
As Always,

I love this deal, it is rare to se this stuff any less than MSRP, and I even have a local store in on the deal, that never was the case when I lived in MT!

When this deal is dead (after 7/7) check out www.canoerack.com , there is no website to speak of, but simply email them (using link), and ask for a quote on the Yakama stuff you need, there will be no tax, and fair shipping, and the prices are less than retail. That is were I bought all my stuff while up there, good people!

my yakama poles are rusted inside at one end (not sure how), so now it's just a matter of if i buy a new set, or go to HomeDepot and make my own!

BTW round poles like yakama make alot more sense to me than the square thule ones, it gives you infinite angles to mount stuff.

Thule is better, the flat poles will hold more securely.

Thule doesn't rust, so you won't have to replace them. Mine are almost 10 years old and they have been on the car the whole time.

Uh oh, flamewar started: "Yakima vs Thule: Fight!"

I ended up with a bunch of Yakima stuff as I kept collecting it on sale or closeout or store closing over the years. I like it a lot, but the Thule stuff looks very good too. Can't go wrong with 25% off - as other people have said, it's rare to see this marked down. The only place I think of is REI has a twice year sale where some Yakima stuff is 10-30% off msrp.

i found why the poles rusted at the tip, the plastic was cracked, i guess everytime i stood the rack on one end, it wore away the caps.

I've had my rack for... maybe 7 years, and still going strong. When I first got it, it cost more than the car i had! 87 dodge shadow TURBO oooh 🙂

anyway racks are a must in MT, esp on a small car like mine (Talon AWD Turbo).
