YAJT: Tomorrow is my last day

Not sure if anyone remembers my situation:

Anyways, it got worse after my review. My manager is a moron, plain and simple. He doesn't deserve to be a manager and many people in this company know that, even supervisors etc. Sad part is, this guy is being favoritized by a Top Manager and he is basically untouchable.

My 10% raise was denied. And work continued. Too much work, and new employees came in. Rather 1 new employee, the other was moved from Accounting... since when is Accounting = IT Systems Analyst... oh, because "they know the system." God, I'm so glad I'm out of this POS company. It was a dead end anyway. On to some better things.

So tomorrow is my final day here, half day actually. Any ideas on what to do? =)

danny~!

I don't have anything lined up, but I can go back to my old job and work part time if money is an issue. I gave myself 2 months max before i desperately need to find something new. But I'm not worried at all. I'm pretty confident actually.

Regarding grabing the reception.... actually we have none in this building, but I did score on the co-worker before she left and we're dating.

Depending on how long you were there, you might find it quite hard applying for new roles, if the companies you apply for are hot on references. Not to mention, trying to explain the reason that you got fired.

what you should do:

treat it like a normal day, say your goodbyes, and walk out.

you don't want to be remembered for being a jackass. never know when you'll run into them... in a super weird situation, one of my old bosses from 2 jobs ago (that job -> new job -> my current job) got hired by my company as our new head of HR :Q god knows how screwed I'd be if I had told her what I really thought of her when I quit that job 😉

ahh right in that case

I should have read your previous thread 🙂

congrats to you sir. my last day is not far from now (next friday). i'm switching to a job with more money, more pension, more holidays, more vacation and shorter commute. i'm already slacking at my current job because right about now i really don't give a fcuk as long as i don't do anything absurd and burn bridges.

Don't forget to leave a letter stating that you'll be willing to work for them on a consultant basis. Make sure that as a consultant, you're paid far more than what you would have made after a 10% raise. If you're correct about the level of incompetence, they'll need you.

whats funny is that is exactly what I thought about the first 6 months I was here. This place is a perfect consultant-type contract. They need IT here so bad its not even funny.
