I just found this nugget, which tells us Ken's next goal on Jeopardy. From this site:

Q: Who is the all-time winner?
A: The all-time winner is Brad Rutter a 24-year-old record store employee and certified network administrator with five wins totaling $55,102 and a new car in regular season play, $100,000 in the Jeopardy! 2001 Tournament of Champions winnings and $1,000,000 as winner of the Million Dollar Masters for a total of $1,155,102 in CASH. Brad's total winnings, including the value of the car, are $1.2 million.

So he could top the all-time record in about another week. Nice.

the scores at the end before final jeopardy were 17000 - 4000 - 8200

Ken ended the game with 17200

How can you guys say that the timing of the buzzer is not a factor. The OP stated it clearly - Ken wins many of the questions because he buzzes in at the right time. THE EASY QUESTIONS. Who here cannot answer at 30-60% of the questions? In some categories, I can do a sweep of it. I can answer them before Ken sometimes, which means if I had a buzzer and could get in before him, I would "win". Sure he's really smart, but the key here is the questions that anyone would have been able to answer and he gets because of his timing.

I am not taking away from his skill or genius, but to say that the buzzer has nothing to do with it, is a little naive.

Don't get me wrong, his method of immediately ringing in is definitely helping him, but anyone can do it, he doesn't have a special advantage in my opinion.

Ken played quiz bowl for years and that certainly helped him to acclimate to the basic buzzer reflex. Each progressive game allows him to be much faster at the buzzer than his opponents. But having the basic knowledge and confidence to ring in a by far more important (especially when it comes to the high value clues).

Ken will undoubtly break Brad Rutter's record. I can only think of a few people, who also happen to be quiz bowl players, that can take down Ken and run their own hot streaks.

It is amazing that he knows all this stuff. Some of the clues I thought were really tough on last night's show.
