YAITID(I think I'm dying)T: Anyone ever have sinusitis/sinus infection?

A mere three days ago I woke up with a slight sore throat. Later that day I started developing what felt like the worse sinus headache in my life. My face felt like it was pulsating, but I could still breathe, etc. Fast forward to today where I've injested some meds per my doctor, and I can't hear a single thing out of my left ear. I can hardly keep my eyes open, because they're watering so much. If I breeze heavy through my nose the air comes out of my eyes.

I'm wondering if I have something worse than a sinus infection at this point. Anyone familiar with these type of infections? Should I consider going to the ER if it gets any worse?

I'm taking Avelox right now, but I guess I wasn't expecting for things to get this bad before it got better. My doctor just says "it will go away with time."

I used to suffer with sinus infections 2-3 times a year. Luckily I had very little sinus pain, but often they would lead to very high fevers, dehydration and hospital stays if not treated with antibiotics.

That all came to a virtual end when I got my tonsils and adenoids out ten years ago. Since then I've had only a couple bad sinus infections and no dehydration or hospital stays.

That is strange. Did they ever give you an explination for that?

Aren't those organs designed to assist your immune system by giving it a head start so to speak?

The problem was, my tonsils and adenoids would get infected very easily. Since I already had sinus problems, the infection easily spread to the sinuses. Also, chronic inflamation of my adenoids was blocking my eustachian tubes and my nasal passages.

Your adenoids and tonsils play less and less of a part in your immune system as you get older. And none as an adult.

I have had it before. It really sucked. I got out of bed and went to my doctor. He said that it was a virus and there was not much he could do except gve me a decongestant. I went back to bed.
