YAIT: Competitors to the Ipod nano?

(note: i dont really want this to turn into a discussion of why apple/ipod sux and other features of the nano: im well aware that the nano continues to lacks on features like voice recording, fm tuner, wma playback, etc. etc. that i will sorely miss. i would be interested in any info on what has/will be accomplished as far as homebrew software for the nano. i know much better replacements for itunes already exist. are there OS replacements too, that might let you playback wma for instance?)

im thinking of getting a nano today. the biggest selling point is the flash memory. last i checked, 4gb of Flash memory for $250 is a great price. but its been a while since i last checked, and the only thing i really had to compare it to was usb thumb drives

so my basic question is, what competiting products are there that offer flash based mp3 players at the same gb/$ value? the tiny 1gb cube mobiblue mp3 player is the only other one that caught my attention, but its like 1/4 the size for 1/2 the cost

I think they are upto 4GB flash players now... not readily available, but you can easily buy 1, 1.5 and 2 GB players almost anywhere.

Flash based players totally rule... no moving parts = better peace of mind for reliability. (no guarantees it won't break tho)
