So my water cooling pump is plugged into an extension cord that runs up to a light w/ an outlet on the ceiling. Little did I know that the switch on stairs that I usually turn off whenever I'm out controls this outlet🙁

You guessed it, I left my PC on and the switch off...

I had temp monitoring software running at the time. When I came back I checked temps, and the log was saying it got up to ~80C (CPU this is, only on the loop) It throttled back a number of times, but amazingly it never turned off. And, it's still working now, so I hope nothing was mildy broke internally.

Anyhow dont worry, the cpu will undergo thermal shutdown at 85C to prevent thigns from melting.

yah I know....right know I am using a fishpond pump for my loop because the whole thing is homemade. I will eventually get a "inside of case" pump that will run off the psu, not my wall outlet
