Didn't watch yet (unless I've already seen it), but he's more like the Israeli version of Ares, not Ares himself. As in he's the god of war ... just a different god of war.

Unless you do something stupid you'll be here in 2013, but whatever date will you arbitrarily pick next?

Whats interesting about Atheists is they will use anything to support their views.

They will use another Athiest who claims to have talked with a God....so support the view there is no God...lol....did I miss something....duh....

God hates missing apostrophes and spaces before ending periods. He's scrubbing those people first.

oh man nice...wait did she talk? i was just staring at her boobs..

From the moving of her lips, I gather she was saying something about faith and evidence. I was too distracted to glean anything more from it.

I do highly recommend the OP's video. Parts 3 and 4 about epistemology aren't directly to do with theism/atheism but should be viewed by anyone wanting to engage in reasoned discussion/debate on the internet or anywhere else. This guy is very good at explaining the concepts in a straight-forward and direct fashion. The idea of stripping away all your perceptions and beliefs and starting at ground zero is critical.

Who was authority who makes the link false, Since no authorities exist by the hand of God who says whats true or false? A man who claims to have talked to God is an authority . No . It makes him a dirty little lieing scum bag.

You think Moses and Jesus are dirty little lieing scum bags?

huh? tahweh isn't on that page

Maybe I misunderstood one of my history teachers and there simply is a similarity between the worship of Baal and Yahweh. I distinctly remember them saying that Baal had killed the remaining gods and declared himself the only god and eventually it transformed into the modern faiths god.

edit: could have possibly been that the Baal cycle to jews ended differently than to canaanites which is why in old testament there is constantly the fight between whether to worship baal or yahweh.

Yes, I think that explains it.

The interesting hint I got in the video was that when the Bible refers to "Lord" it is actually pointing to an entirely different deity. You know, the various pronouns meant to be God?

According to the video, Yahweh was derived from El Elyon, not Baal. However, it is immaterial which of the pantheon Yaweh was derived from, because the critical point is that the early Israelites practiced "monolatrist polytheism" rather than monotheism. In other words, they believed in the existence of a pantheon of gods, but that the god "Yahweh" should be worshiped exclusively over all the others, and that he would punish any who worshiped the others. Monolatrist polytheism makes perfect sense as a transitional form between polytheism and monotheism.

Interesting stuff.

Wait, what? (Assuming this is a serious post, that is.)

I do not believe in "God" or any other kind of higher power. The thing is, I don't have to "use anything to support this view" because it's on those who assert that "God" exists to justify that assertion. Those people have nothing but faith (belief without evidence) for that justification.

So that would give credence to the Baal cycle transforming into early Israelite faith correct? Just my first post in the thread mentioned that Baal was Yahweh when infact its El Elyon. Meaning they simply had a different understanding of the traditional Baal cycle.

The living Word has nothing to do with this . and since the HRCC abolished most of the Gosphels leads one to believe that only certain messages were used . The 4 gosphels we have remaining are written in a manor not of that period and certainly not written by Matt. Mark Luke and John. ALL ROMAN LIES . Moses the man who wrote bible verse befor his time by alot . The old testment is nothing but a history of a lieing race of people . How did they pull this off. Hang on your about to find out the Hebrew god of death has returned.
All other cultures of the time had another name for the heavenly pressence The egpytians called it the destroyer today we call it Nibiru. You will deny it right up till the end . I just hope the whole world sees it befor internet goes down . So I can be a reminder to you as to why you failed.
