YAHT: Yet Another Headphone Thread

I'm heading off to college tomorrow and I'm not sure what kind of headphones I should get. I have Best Buy, Circuit City, and CompUSA right near by. But I could really order them online and have them shipped to me too if need be. I don't think I'll be needing them until after orientation week anyway.

I have an iPod that I will use to/from classes and probably some in my room. So I'd like to get a set of headphones that can replace the earbuds that came with that. But I'd also like to be able to hook em up to my computer and listen to music in my room without disturbing my roommate.

Am I going to have to get 2 sets of headphones? One portable, one full size? (Sony Street Style for portable, Sennheiser 202 for full size in the dorm) BTW, I don't want to spend too much money on this in case you couldn't tell by my only wanting to get 1 pair and the 2 pairs I mentioned, if I have to get 2, go for $50 total.

BTW, I don't like the kind that kinda hook onto each ear, e.g. Koss KSC-35. I want something that is comfortable for extended use.

Thanks.

I got these to replace the ear buds that came with my iRiver. They are great headphones to replace a portable set. They sound great, are comfortable and come with a hard plastic carrying case so you can just toss them in your bag when not in use.

Those look pretty good. Think they would be decent if I hooked them up to my sound card so I don't disturb my roommate?
