I was talking with this guy who had a place in natomas park (sacramento area) for a good price. Since i live so far away everything has to be done electronically. Anyway he wanted the money for holding the apt. 550 dollars, and wanted it western union, but western union is a ripoff, they wanted 50 additionally for the place, so total of 600 in cash, not check in cash..

Anyway I called teh guy saying I can either send him a check or come and give it to him in person next week. The guy goes "no".. I want it in cash.. then I asked him about the subsquent months, and he said he would like it in cash preferably but wouldnt mind a check.

I think realised this guy is trying to get away with teh IRS decrations, by having it in cash..

I need to find a place in sacramento by the months end.. I am getting bad vibes from this guy now, so what do I do, send him 600 western union or find something else.. mind you for the price of 400 a month that is a darn good deal for free cable, free dsl etc etc..

What do you guys think. My parents are paying for my room, and so I have to get them to either pay it in cash or by credit card (on the web). I told him I would do an etf from my mom's work but he didnt want that.

I definitely would not give him cash or western union.

I'd also want something signed and NOTARIZED from him, some sort of legal binding legal mumbo jumbo.

Then I would either deliver funds to him in person, overnight a cashier's check or wire transfer.

I don't think he is trying to avoid taxes, bur rather rip you off and leave you without a place to live. Stay far away from people like him.

he sent me a rental agreement, but he wont sign it until I send him the money.. The rental agreement was not notoraized, it just said its between him and me and i have full house privilges and the one room as promised for 400 bucks.

I just talked to him.. I signed it and sent it to him already. The thing is that this guy is giving a weird vibe now.. Actually he gave me a weird vibe the other day, he keeps calling to check on status, like he is hounding me on things..

He said if i dont send him the money by 5pm he will let it go..

I think I rather let it go, but for the price its a good deal but i rather find someone who is less demanding on stuff. I mean I am going up north next week to check some stuff at school, i offered to give it to him then. I am not moving in until end of the month anyway .. and worse yet if I am moving in end of august beginning of september I should just pay my deposit and then pay the rent when i move in for that month.. I dont know this guy is wired.. cause he wanted me to pay now 550 and then pay again on september 3rd even though the payment is supposed to M2M and not a month in advance.

I think i will let this guy go and find something else.

Why don't you go up there, check into a hotel/motel and search for apartments? I'd rather not deal with sketchy people.

i suggested paypal, but he didnt want that..

This guy was listing on craigslist, and going by its philosophy you need to be open about things.. this guy wasnt too clear about the parking situation of teh condo and stuff. I mean the guy doesnt have a car, he didnt know what to do about the parking, he said i should get a parking spot when i get tehre, etc etc.. but it was open air and parking my bike open air isnt the best situation but it would have been to be done.

I am going to ask tyler to see if any places are there in teh college housing boards .. in the mean time I dont know what else to do. I will continue to check craigslist.. and other place whre I can find housing related stuff.

I definately want a bedroom for myself and possibly a bathroom, but i woudlnt mind sharing the bathroom with someone who is not too WILD in teh bathroom.

In the mean time i am going to blow this guy off.

Edit: I am going up north next week so maybe I can check for apt's when i get there.
