YAHOT - Water Heater Question

does anyone here flush their water heater on a regular basis to remove sediments and other stuff that collect inside the water heater? supposedly, this will reduce the rusting inside and prolong the life of the water heater...

heard you should do this twice a year...I don't remember my parents ever doing this...

if i'm in the area (like if i'm checking on a sump pump or something) i'll drain water off the top until it runs clear then agin on the bottom, but otherwise no. don't forget test the T&P relief vales while your at it
