Stay with what you have unless you download alot.

My fiance plays a lot of online games (Battlefield, Guild Wars, etc.), would it affect online gameplay significantly?

I don't download any music, but we do download some pr0n.

A couple things:

You're currently paying $14.95/mo. for 384Kb - 1.5Mb
The new plan is 1.5Mb.

Don't mix up KB, Kb, MB and Mb. 1 MB is 1Mb x 8.

Also, yeah, I'd say it's worth the upgrade. What's the upload rate on the new plan?

I'm at the "express speed" now and will be bumped up to the "pro speed".

The new upload rate is 384:285 kb/sec, it used to be 128:384. (I don't know what that means, but is it worth the price increase?)

What you have should be fine for you two unless he is having problems with your current isp while gaming.

Sometimes it lags when there are a lot of people playing... mostly during BF and CS.

He's also a PhD student in computer science and works a lot on assignments/projects from home. Sometimes that's slow, but I think it's because the school's server is slow.

Okay, these are the packages she's looking at, just so there are no more mixups with the numbers. 🙂

Heh, thanks jumpr.

After thinking about it, I guess there wouldn't be that much of a difference. We don't have a huge problem with speed, we have a problem when it disconnects so often. I guess upgrading speeds won't change the crappy service, sigh.
