HI All

For those people who have signed up recently on their 14.95 a month deal, Did you receive a new modem or a remanufactured unit? Also, how do they stop u from receiving the top speed of 3.0 with their service? Is it in the modem u receive or is it through software on their end? Can a person sign up for their service get their modem but go out and purchase a different modem and get the faster speed?

Yes, you can purchase a modem, and no you can't get the faster speed - if you do any hacks on your end they'll know about it. I suggest you just use your 1.5M/256K because that's a helluva lot better than the Qwest DSL I'm getting for $31/mo at 256K/256K. Be glad you live in da South.
 
actually, you can get that service anywhere. i have it in michigan. the only problem is that they kept downgrading my service, without me knowing, to a quarter of what i was paying for. you should run speed tests often.
