Something weird about the site - while it shows Vermont for Obama (pop ~600K+) 3 electoral votes, and Kentucky for McCain (pop 4M+) 8 electoral votes, it shows the popular vote as almost the same for the two states, each giving between 450K and 500K. That doesn't make sense.

The numbers are based off of reporting precincts. The called states are based on exit polling. It's like that for all the relevant sites.

1 minute ago they had new results for a couple of states.
Good tool, thanks.

Of course, since I know better than to trust polls I will wait for the actual results in the morning. But its still kind of fun to watch and see if all the projections will be true.

OUCH!
76 to 34. Mccain getting stomped in New England, but I think that was expected by all the analysts.

Virginia closed an hour ago, but when I was standing in line this morning I heard some of the volunteers saying it usually takes all night for them to report.
Are they still predicting easy wins for Obama in the Pacific states? If thats true he wont need too many states from the east and midwest to get a solid victory. It may even be decided before the west closes its polls.

I think I'll go over to my local Hooters and watch the results.
That way when someone wins I'll have a convenient hugging and kissing partner.

yeah it takes awhile. this is a very exciting day! they always say every election is the "most" historic, but in my eye this one seems to take the pie. so much is at stake lol.
