Well I have Win2k and I am an Admin here at home so I have all the accsess rights. Anyway, my brother uses it in Guest mode, I keep it that way so he doesn't install anything(particulary Yahoo Messenger). If he has accsess to the program, he chats a lot, and I mean a whole lot. The computer is here in my room, and ussally he uses the computer for maybe 2 hours when the Messenger program isn't there isn't there. When it is there, he will be in my room for a good 6-8 hours while I'm trying to sleep and all he does is type away non-stop while muttering words as he types which annoys me like you don't know. When it's in Guest mose for those of you who don't know, it will not let you install any program. I also edited the host file so it wouldn't connect to "chat.yahoo.com". I think somehow he figured out a way to install it(I think Yahoo has some sort of web based version in case you don't want to install the actual version). Is there something I can do to keep it from connecting from the Messenger server without installing a firewall or something to keep it from installing in Guest? I obviously can't tell him just not to use the computer because he paid a small(and a very small) part for it.

Someone please help me with this, it annoys like crazy.

Uninstall it and pretend you dont know what happened? Either that or block access to yahoo entirely.

Pay him his money :D

Well thats pretty much a security hole and a half. Admins should KNOW that. ;)
They would also understand how to set up user profiles, and restrict access.

The best way to resolve it is to move the computer, or get your rents to buy him one too.

Look I don't want him not to use the computer entirly. It's just this guy has been using the internet for years and all he does is visit pr0n sites and chat rooms all day. It's annoying that he's been using a computer for so long, yet he still asked the question yesterday "What's Windows?" BTW, I know what caused it to install, he didn't actually install it. I had the prog installed in Admin mode(I never use it at all) but he clicked a logo in an e-mail to trigger the program. Problem solved.
