Yahoo Mail on Mac Mail

I'm trying to set up Yahoo Mail to work with Mac Mail properly. On my iPhone it goes for an IMAP connection and I have all my folders and such, but I can't get Mail to do the same thing (it will only go for POP access).

I'm on OSX 10.5.8 and Mail 3.6 (936).

Would updating to Snow Leopard fix that? Is there a way of setting a local proxy?

Thanks.

As far as I know you need a paid subscription for it to work on desktops. On mobile devices it works because it is allowed.

And I see no mention of IMAP, only Pop3 for their 'Plus' service.

I have Yahoo Plus. Certain clients have IMAP access, others don't. They have a custom IMAP command that is required for your client to work with it. (see http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Yahoo_mail and scroll down to Free IMAP and SMTPs access)

So I'm trying to figure out how to make Mac Mail to work with it. There must be a way. The iPhone Mail client works so I'm pretty sure there must be a way of making the desktop client work too.

The weird thing is the smtp server works, I can send mail, and receive on GMail, but I can't read..keeps prompting for pass, they could have fixed it.
