How does one get rid of an account they no longer want? Never use it and it just fills up with mega junk. Do I just leave it be and they will shut it down once it gets jammed packed or is there a way to terminate that account?

I dont think you can get rid of it. I tried terminating mine, and it still exists.

I think if you just leave it and not check it for a long time they'll kill it. Hotmail does something like if you don't sign in for over 30 days they nuke that account. I used to have an Yahoo account that I think the last time I ever checked it was like a year ago. I'm pretty sure Yahoo terminated that already by now.

Deleting Your Account
Yahoo! members can now remove their own account(s) and account information from Yahoo!. Please follow the instructions here to initiate the deletion of your account.

Please note: Deleting your entire Yahoo! account will not cancel your ClubConnect (Personals) membership. If you need to cancel your membership, please visit the Yahoo! Personals help pages for further information.

By deleting your account, you will lose access to all personalized areas of Yahoo!. This includes your GeoCities web page, Mail account, Groups and Clubs, Auctions, Fantasy Sports, Games, Profiles, Address Book, Briefcase, Portfolio, and any other areas of Yahoo! that can only be accessed with your Yahoo! ID and password.

Please be sure you want to delete your entire account as you will not be able to reactivate it once the account has been deleted. You are always welcome to sign up again, for a new account.

To get started, sign in to the account you wish to remove. If you're having trouble signing in, you can get password help at:

http://edit.yahoo.com/config/eval_forgot_pw

Next, follow the steps to remove your account. Please be sure to read each page carefully, as important information about your account and account information is included.

Please complete this process only if you are certain you would like to remove your entire Yahoo! account and any features you have personalized within the account. Once the deletion process is initiated, your Yahoo! account can never be recovered.
