ok ya...it's me nix253 who till yesterday was banging his head on the wall, having bad thoughts that life is impossible and what not? (check this thread out-..... but hey hey i did it...i, after hours of troubleshooting each card with different set of drivers...I was able to get my 6850 crossfire setup working great with the AMD catalyst 10.10d hotfix which i installed over CCC software suite 10.10, ATI catalyst application profiles 10.10 and ATI southbridge 10.10 which i installed separately before i installed the hotfix. although the score in 3d mark vantage is 22218 on performance, i guess it must because my cards are operating @ 8x-8x on my motherboard and also the CPU is running @ 2.8GHz stock only(by the way can that affect the GPU score). but atleast it's close to wat the reviewers have been getting and the major thing is games in which...DAMN!... silky smooth battlefield BC2 n Black ops, ACII, SC2: WOL ....everything....i was speechless when i saw the action happening in it's full glory on 1080p.
alright but this is where another concern of my starts - i'm fine for a while with this set of drivers and hotfix ...but what about later versions? ....Because when i tried catalyst 10.12 my crossfire didn't work n when i thought about using 10.12a hotfix i saw on many forums on net that that particular hotfix is recommended only for 69xx users and not for anyone using cards other than them.......
so what my question is how do i find out which set of drivers will work best for my 6850CFx setup. Do i just keep updating the ati catalyst profiles or do i have to update everything with it? i mean if the future games keep supporting my current drivers n everything i wouldn't even bother thinking about updating......
2. seeing how AMD is a little awkward in providing it's drivers and hotfixes ....n IF I'VE TO UPDATE MY DRIVERS in order for the upcoming games to work on my CFx... then will the asus download section be the best for me to get the new "WORKING" drivers or i'll have to HIT n TRIAL with what AMD provides at it's site.
