YAHOO! Groups message board moderation question

Hello all
I joined a Yahoo Group about 7 years ago. It was (believe still is) private in the sense you would have to send a postcard to the administrator and they would sign you up. Its work related, and now has quite a few members.
A few years ago I accidentally sent a Private Message, with some sensitive information, as a Public Post. I later deleted the post, but some other members responded to the post which automatically quoted my message in full every time someone responded. To this day there is a paper trail on the Group linking my name to the information. I thought I had solved this problem years ago, but recently found by searching my name or location the info easily pops up as a "quote" is someone else's message. I tried contacting the current Group Admin, but whether through ineptitude or attitude, they are not being very helpful. To further complicate things, for anonymity I changed my account details, and Yahoo seems to have changed the UI quite a bit so I'm having trouble contacting the admin privately, and ended up posting that I have a "private" issue to discuss with the admin which seems to have attracted some new nosey people, which is quite angering/embarrassing.
I should add, there is no malice by the people that quoted me. If anything, they were being supported and didn't realize the "quote" would cause me this grief. However, its a pain to dredge all this up again and contact them individually, and I'm not sure if they are even still active members.
I thought it was possible to delete posts and threads if you are an admin? I'm not familiar with how Yahoo Groups work. Is there a way to delete everything posted from my IP address on that site? This is so unpleasant and a hassle. I'm sure if I posted death threats or illegal porn or said I'm a minor or something they'd find a way pronto to delete everything from my IP and I wouldn't have to go through all this hassle.
