Yahoo! (Geocities) PageBuilder is the BEST HTML editor hands down.

You guys ever try this thing? It's AMAZING! I can't find any other editor out there that lets you drag and drop text boxes, pics, and just about everything else anyplace you want on the screen.
And don't say handcoding beats it. I dont give a hoot about handcoding.

So until I find something that can equal the power of PageBuilder... Geocities 4 Life!

"handcoding beats it" < here si said it.... 😉

seriously... i think its great too.... considering I have used both Dreamweaver and frontpage....

Dreamweaver 4 is the best. I do my stuff in that and then look it over changing any code if needed. I can hard code but what's the point, Dreamweaver just makes it all faster.

But can I do what I was mentioning in PageBuilder with things like Dreamweaver?

For example, in PageBuilder everything works like an object on a background. If I want to pick up and drag a picture someplace I do it, and the same with text. With it I just creat an object and drag it anyplace I want, no need to format the X and Y axis' by hand...

That's great, but I'm sure the html behind it royally sucks. NetObjects Fusion, and Drumbeat used to do the same thing, and the html was absolutely the most horrid thing I had ever seen. "You never have to look at the html" you may say, but that's entirely false.

In short, handcoding is much more clean, and precise. If you can think abstractly, you can design the page in your head and simply apply it to the html. The end result will be much cleaner html that's more portable, more efficient, and easier to maintain in the future.

That may be so, but for what I am looking to do I will never need to look at the code..

So how about this.. for simple stuff and things its a good editor.

If you're just using it for simple things then you might as well code by hand, if it's simple that should be quick. 😉
