Yahoo DSL Central Office?

Hi everyone,

I am about to sign up for SBC Yahoo DSL, I heard about the quality of service (speed wise) depend greatly on the distance between you and the Central Office. Is there anyway for me to know where the closest Central Office of SBC Yahoo to my house? Thanks a lot.

What do you mean by "go out and investigate"? Do you mean to ride the car around and look for Central Offices? Does the building has a special mark on it? Is there another way? Thanks

thats exactly what i mean.
they are usually non-descript brick buildings without windows and might have a logo somewhere on the front.
look for generators in the back surrounded by fencing.
youve probably seen one, just never noticed.

Wow, thanks RossMAN, but I only see COVAD as the ISP for my area and it is 10000 ft away. I want to know about SBC Yahoo.

Edit: I think I figured it out but please verify with me. One CO (Central Office) can be use by several ISP to provide access to consumer right?

I think that is correct.

We used to have Earthlink DSL but our only CO was Covad. So I think Covad leased/shared it with other DSL ISP's but I could be wrong.
