Yeah, I was too... Luckily I waited. I am now in it for 5 years... How can you go wrong with 5 years of domain name for $10? =) Gotta love it.

This seems like a really good deal, but does anyone know about the email forwarding? It seems from the ad text that they'll only forward to a free yahoo account. I have a bunch of domain names that have a whole list of email forwarders attached to them. I wouldn't want to get in on this unless I could have the emails forwarded to some non-yahoo email accounts.

Does anyone know how you would do this deal with a domain name you already own?

Found my answer on their website:

Please note that while Yahoo! currently allows you to redelegate a domain you registered elsewhere to use with your Yahoo! plan, we don't yet offer the ability to transfer your domain registration to Yahoo!

Found this one too:

In order to forward your domain name email to an address other than your Yahoo! Mail address, you will need to upgrade your plan to Yahoo! Custom Mailbox or Yahoo! Business Mail.

Hmmm, take off the referral JJ.... if you go to smallbusiness.yahoo.com/domains you can see it there too, minus the referral

Not a referral - sometimes (like the 4.99 deal which I also posted - see that thread) without that p= it does not show you the right offer - I think it is a yahoo offer code (shows up with that code on banners on yahoo sites).. If it works without, feel free to go to site without..

If you are not using them as a host, ie: you are using a different nameserver than yahoo, all off that goes through the nameserver and not yahoo so you can do use whatever email settings your third party nameserver allows.

Edit: Also, the WHOIS info email can be whatever you set it too, reguardless of account type.

I got mine, seems to be a normal domain service. I got mine fully activated in 45 minutes.

If I remember correctly you can transfer to Godaddy after like 6 mos or so...from my foggy recollection of this when I got a few $4.99 domains at Yahoo...

So what's up with the WHOIS $9.99/month deal they try to offer you at the end? Is this worth it? I'm using my personal credit card so my home address is connecting....is this a bad idea? How bad is the spam?

I quickly changed the info after my credit card was charged to something that I KNOW would be bogus.

Ps: Thanx OP for the post

I wonder what's gonna happen to us that register more than one at the $1.99 price?

It says only one per customer...but it allows you to do more than one purchase at $1.99.

I hope we don't get nailed later for $9.99 per domain.
